What is DSIP?

Unlike most compounds in this range, DSIP is a naturally occurring peptide rather than a synthetic construct. It was isolated in the 1970s from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits, and the name records the circumstances of that isolation rather than a demonstrated mechanism.

That distinction is worth holding onto. A name given at the point of discovery describes what researchers were looking at, not what the molecule was later shown to do. DSIP has been studied across a range of endpoints since, and the literature is more mixed and more modest than the name suggests.

DSIP is centrally active, and whether a centrally active peptide falls within the scope of the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016 is a question we have not seen authoritatively settled. How is it reconstituted?

Allow the sealed vial to reach room temperature before breaking the seal, which prevents condensation drawing moisture into the cake. Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall rather than directly onto the powder, then swirl gently until clear. Do not shake: agitation shears peptide chains. The volume added sets the working concentration, so calculate it before opening anything.
