What is Epithalon?

Four amino acids, which makes it among the shortest sequences sold as a research peptide. It was synthesised at the St Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology as a synthetic analogue of epithalamin, a pineal gland extract, and is also written as Epitalon and AEDG.

Its small size has a practical consequence worth knowing: at 390 g/mol it is roughly a quarter the mass of BPC-157, so a given mass contains far more molecules. That matters when preparing solutions on a molar basis rather than by weight.

The literature, and its limits

Published work centres on telomerase activity in cell culture and on endpoints related to cellular senescence. The evidence base should be described accurately: it is small, much of it originates from the same institute that developed the compound, and independent replication outside that group is limited. Anyone citing this literature should read the primary sources rather than secondary summaries.

How is it reconstituted?

Allow the sealed vial to reach room temperature before breaking the seal, which prevents condensation drawing moisture into the cake. Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall rather than directly onto the powder, then swirl gently until clear. Do not shake: agitation shears peptide chains. The volume added sets the working concentration, so calculate it before opening anything.
