Three residues

Pinealon is one of the shortest sequences sold as a research peptide, comparable in size to GHK. At 418 g/mol it is roughly a third the mass of BPC-157, which has a practical consequence: 10 mg of Pinealon contains around three and a half times as many molecules as 10 mg of BPC-157. Work prepared on a molar basis needs that arithmetic done properly, and it is the sort of detail a mass-only label hides.

Short peptides also behave differently in handling. Fewer residues means fewer sites for enzymatic cleavage, but small peptides can be more prone to loss through adsorption onto glass and plastic surfaces at low concentrations.

Origin and evidence

Developed at the St Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, the same group behind Epithalon, as part of a programme on short regulatory peptides. The published literature is small and originates largely from that institute, so independent replication is limited. Read the primary sources.

Price per milligram

This vial is £24.99 for 10 mg, which is £2.50 per milligram. Comparing suppliers on price per milligram rather than headline price is the only like-for-like comparison, because vial strengths are not standardised across this market.

Does it come with a certificate of analysis?

Supplied with a batch-specific certificate of analysis stating the batch reference, identity confirmation, chromatographic purity against specification, and the analytical method used. Purity by reverse-phase HPLC with mass spectrometric identity confirmation, and the certificate names the laboratory that performed the work.

How is it reconstituted?

Allow the sealed vial to reach room temperature before breaking the seal, which prevents condensation drawing moisture into the cake. Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall rather than directly onto the powder, then swirl gently until clear. Do not shake: agitation shears peptide chains. The volume added sets the working concentration, so calculate it before opening anything.
