What is Kisspeptin-10?

The KISS1 gene encodes a 145-residue precursor protein, which is cleaved to produce shorter active fragments. Kisspeptin-10 is the C-terminal decapeptide, the shortest fragment retaining full activity at the receptor KISS1R, formerly named GPR54.

The naming convention matters when ordering. Kisspeptin-54, -14, -13 and -10 are all fragments of the same precursor at different lengths, all active at the same receptor, with different masses. A certificate of analysis quoting the wrong mass is quoting a different fragment.

Why this one is different from the rest of our range

Most compounds here are either abandoned by their developers or never entered clinical development. Kisspeptin is neither. It is under active investigation as a medicine, including research affiliated with UK academic hospitals looking at hypothalamic regulation of reproductive hormones.

That has a practical implication we would rather state than leave implicit: a compound in active clinical development has an interested developer, and the regulatory position around it can change faster than for a compound nobody is pursuing.

How is it reconstituted?

Allow the sealed vial to reach room temperature before breaking the seal, which prevents condensation drawing moisture into the cake. Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall rather than directly onto the powder, then swirl gently until clear. Do not shake: agitation shears peptide chains. The volume added sets the working concentration, so calculate it before opening anything.
